Back up your files.
Always make sure to have a backup of your files. Verify with your IT personnel that your backup system functions correctly. Additionally, be sure to store your data in a location that is being backed up.
Don’t fix, protect.
Nowadays, simply fixing what’s broken is not enough. Your infrastructure, both in-house and in the cloud, needs to be protected completely and constantly.
Stay vigilant.
Be extra vigilant about real-looking emails, verify large transactions by phone, and never enter your password unless you’re positive you’re on the correct website. Avoid clicking on links that might be malicious. If in doubt, check with your IT provider.
