How to Enable Web IP Restrictions #
Overview #
Web IP restrictions allow you to control which computers or networks can access the web clock-in feature. This can be applied at the company level or per employee. For best results, a static IP address is strongly recommended.
Important Note About IP Addresses #
- IP addresses can change frequently if they are not static.
- If you use a dynamic IP, you may need to constantly update the allowed IP addresses.
- Using a static IP ensures consistent access without ongoing maintenance.
Enable Company-Wide Web IP Restrictions {audience: admin} #
- Log in to the Admin Portal.
- Navigate to Settings (bottom-left corner).
- Select Company Settings.
- Click on Web IP Restrictions.
- Under Company Web IP Restrictions, enter the IP address you want to manage.
- Choose one of the following options:
– Whitelist – Allows access from this IP address.
– Blacklist – Blocks access from this IP address.
- If you do not know your IP address, you can select Use Current IP Address.
– Keep in mind that this IP may change unless it is static.
Enable Web IP Restrictions Per Employee {audience: admin} #
- Go to the Employees section.
- Select the employee you want to restrict.
- Click the gear icon next to the employee.
- Choose Set Web IP Restriction.
- Enter the IP address.

– Use Current IP Address
How This Affects Employees #
- Employees will only be able to clock in and out from computers using the allowed IP addresses.
- You can restrict access so employees can only clock in from specific computers or locations.
- You can also block access from certain computers by blacklisting their IP addresses.
